An appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccination

Do you have questions about the corona vaccine or want to know how to activate your corona pass? Here is all the information you need:

You can make an appointment with the Municipal Public Health Service (GGD) to be vaccinated against COVID-19 if you are:

• 12 years or older

It is up to you to decide if you want to get vaccinated. It is free, and you do not need health insurance.

Get your first dose where and when you want at a walk-in vaccination centre:

• Find a vaccination centre nearby (see locations at https://prikkenzonderafspraak.rijksoverheid.nl/en/)
• Drop in without making an appointment
• Just roll up your sleeve and you’re done

Or you can contact the GGD to make an appointment for your COVID-19 vaccination. There are 2 ways to make an appointment:

  1. By phone (from 8:00 to 20:00)
    • Look up your citizen service number (burgerservicenummer, BSN). The number is listed on your pay slip or on the health insurance card.
    • Call 0800-7070/+31-85112 4970 (operators speak Dutch and English).
    • Answer questions about your health.
    • Set a date and time.
    • You will receive an email with the details of your appointment or, if you do not have a computer, you can write the information down on paper.
  2. By computer (24 hours a day)
    • Go to: www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl
    • Sign in with your DigiD.
    • Answer questions about your health.
    • Choose a location, date and time.
    • You will receive an e-mail with the details of your appointment.

Make an appointment right away, so you will know when it is your turn. If you are ill, or are going to have an operation within 2 days, you must wait until you are better before making an appointment.

How many vaccinations?

You will get 1 or 2 jabs. That depends on which vaccine you will receive. When you make the appointment, your first and second vaccination will be planned.

If you had COVID-19 in the past, you will only get 1 jab. Mention this when you make your appointment.

Important to remember for your appointment

• Bring along your burgerservicenummer (BSN)
• Come alone if you can. If you need help, you may bring someone with you.
• Are you unable to arrange your own transport or travel by public transport? Then ask the GGD for assistance via the national telephone number on 0800-1351/+31-20205 1351.

Are you fully vaccinated against the coronavirus or recovered? Then you can create a digital COVID Certificate (DCC)

• Download the CoronaCheck app;
• Log in with your DigiD (If you do not yet have a DigiD: Applying for a DigiD is easy via DigiD. You need a citizen service number (burgerservicenummer: BSN) for this)
• And retrieve your details.
• If you do not have a DigiD or a burgerservicenummer (BSN), you can still apply for a DCC if you were vaccinated by the GGD. Please visit https://www.government.nl/topics/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-certificate and complete the online form. This will be available soon (in December).

You can use the corona certificate to travel or to access events.

More information needed?

Go to www.coronavaccinatie.nl/translations or CoronaCheck.nl/en to read more about the vaccination, the health check, an explanation about how your personal data may be registered and the corona certificate. You can also telephone 0800-1351/+31-20205 1351 (local calling costs apply; operators speak Dutch and English).
